It doesn’t matter where you work the temptation to eat unhealthy snacks is always there. It’s effortless to go with the crowd and get a bag of M&Ms from the vending machine. To maintain your fitness goals you need to resist these temptations as much as possible! If you’re trying to resist you are rightly asking; what are some healthy snacks? Thankfully there’s a vast variety to choose from; like fruits, vegetables, and nuts.

If you are like me, you’ll start crashing in the morning around 9 to 9:30 am. It’s during this time that I need some help to stay focused.

There’s a variety of fruits that can help you get over that mid-morning slump!

A lesser-known fruit that provides excellent benefits is grapefruit.

Grapefruit can help with weight loss and provides lots of great nutrients (Vitamin A and C).

Our next fruit is not only healthy but also extremely easy to eat on the go…banana.

Bananas are not only high for potassium but also will give you healthy doses of sugar and carbs. Both are essential to provide you with extra energy.

Lastly, you can always eat an apple. Apples are another natural fruit for people on the move.

Apples are not only high in fiber but also contain polyphenol antioxidants which help with gut health.

These are just a few of the great fruit options available to you.


I know what you’re thinking…vegetables are not the most fun snack.

We all understand the importance of vegetables but too actually include them in your daily diet can be challenging.

Try to get creative with them and make them fun to eat!

Red bell peppers are an excellent place to start. They’re a great source of antioxidants and provides a lot Vitamin C.

Dip red bell peppers in guacamole to make it even more delicious.

Another easy to dip vegetable is carrots.

Carrots; are loaded with carotenoids which our bodies convert to Vitamin A. The number of carotenoids in carrots will significantly lower your risk of cancer and heart disease.

They’re also a good source of beta-carotene boosting healthier skin.

Mix up your dipping options and try blue cheese, ranch, and even hummus.

If you desperately need a chip, there’s also kale chips!

Kale is one of the most popular superfoods. You honestly will have a hard time finding a healthier vegetable. It provides a lot of fiber, protein, and antioxidants.

You’ll never get bored with all the different types of vegetables you can try.



If fruit and vegetables seem a little extreme, but you still want a healthy alternative…nuts are absolutely the way to go.

Nuts are an excellent resource for healthy fat, protein, and fiber. They’re a great tool to be used to curb your cravings.

A favorite nut for health nuts (get it ;)) is almonds.

Almonds are a great resource of monounsaturated fat and can even help with your blood sugar.
